Gerald Dandeneau

Gerald “Jerry” Dandeneau has been practicing law for 47 years. He was an Honor’s graduate of Lafayette College, Easton, PA in 1970. He graduated from Fordham University School of Law in 1973 and was admitted to the practice of law in New York State in 1974. He is admitted in the United State Federal Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, where he has handled numerous trials. He is also admitted to the practice of law before the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals where he has also argued many cases related to employment and labor law.

He started his career in New York City, and then moved to Long Island. Over the years Jerry has had extensive experience representing numerous labor organizations and their fringe benefit funds in the New York Metropolitan area. For the past 20 years he in turn has been representing employers engaged in the construction industry in legal matters relating to employment and labor law issues. His career has also included an extensive practice at the New York State level where he has handled many cases involving commercial, employment and labor law issues.

Over the years Jerry has had his own law firms, including the firm of Dandeneau and Curto, LLP., and thereafter, Dandeneau and Lott, LLP. He has acted in an “Of-Counsel” capacity to several law firms on Long Island. Currently, Jerry is a sole practitioner maintaining a specialization in commercial and labor law matters.

Jerry has been a member of multiple associations in the employment field, and has spoken before various legal groups and organizations. He was a member of the Metropolitan YMCA’s Personnel Committee, where he was instrumental in drafting the first Affirmative Action program for all of the YMCA’s in New York City. He has acted as a moot court Judge at the Yale University School of Law Frederick Douglass Moot Court competition.
